Director’s Letter to Coordinators
Dear Program Coordinators:
As I approach the first decade of my founding of Uvita Surf School I reflect back on the many wonderful groups and chaperones who have joined us here and come away with a love for surfing and a dedication to community service.
The combination of surfing and community service is a natural one, particularly as it is experienced here in Costa Rica where small towns, like Uvita, deeply appreciate the contributions of groups, and these groups love the opportunity to meet and work with friendly locals.
Surfing is not an all day activity and is best enjoyed in the morning when the tide is out, leaving plenty of time for groups to engage in constructive activities in the community and get to know the locals. Which is not to say that we don’t have time for other fun and fulfilling activities, like hiking, zip lining and swimming in a pristine waterfall. The surf and service program at Uvita Surf School has always been an all-around experience for groups, one that they come to cherish.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all the students, families, and program coordinators who have supported our mission to provide the best surf and service program in Costa Rica, and invite all those contemplating such an experience to join us.
We remain ever committed to a quality experience leading to a lifetime of memories for our visitors.
Surf with purpose,
Tito
