+How long is the flight to Costa Rica?
Direct flight from Newark to San Jose takes approximately 5.5 hours. Direct flight from Houston to San Jose takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours.
+Do we need to get visas for this trip?
The Costa Rican government does not require Visas for most of the visitors. However, be sure to check requirements for your specific country.
+What airport should I fly to if I am outside from Costa Rica?

+Where are you located exactly?
Uvita Costa Rica surfcamp home is located in 100 yards north from  Marino Ballena National Park in Uvita, Osa Puntarenas,  a small town that is home to amazing breaks in the Osa Peninsula
+How do I get to Uvita Costa Rica Surf Camp?
Transportation to and from the airport is included in the packages. However other options are available. We offer the “custom package” to give you other options such as bus and car rental. We are glad to make car rental reservations for you.
The travel time by car from San Jose to Uvita can take about 3 hours by road coast or 4 hours by the mountains road. Some people prefer to take a connecting flight from San Jose to Quepos or Palmar Sur Airport. These flights are available through Sansa and Nature Air. It is better to book these flights well in advance of the trip. These flights are about 30 minutes long and the drive to Uvita is about 35 minutes.
+I have never surfed before, is this surf school for me?
Uvita Costa Rica Surf Camp offers surf instruction for all surf levels. It doesn’t matter if you have never seen the ocean, we will work in order to teach how to surf & improve your skills in the most professional way.
+What is the average age for people enrolling in your school?
There is no age to learn surfing. Kids, teens, adults as old as 70 can learn the surf feeling while walking on water.
+What should I bring?
All you really need is  a smile. If you’re enrolling in Uvita Costa Rica Surf School. Surfboards, rash guards and the necessary equipment will be provided by our camp.
+What is the weather like and when is the best time to visit Costa Rica?
Depending on your preference, Costa Rica has a bit of everything (except snow, of course). From May to November, the climate is slightly cooler but also very rainy. From December to April it is very hot and dry for the most part. Also, the mountainous regions are generally cooler than the low-laying coastal areas.
+What immunizations do we need to get for this trip?
Uvita Costa Rica Surf Camp does not make recommendations regarding immunizations. We strongly suggest that you consult with a travel doctor or your family physician for medical recommendations based on the area where the student will be traveling . You can also check the Center for Disease Control website at www.cdc.gov for more information.
+Should I have travelers/health insurance?
It is always a good idea to have your own medical insurance. Costa Rica has a fairly developed health system which includes coverage for all of its citizens. As a visitor you will not be insured. Most standard procedures are not too expensive by the standards of developed countries, and are best to be prepared to pay up front.
+What kind of food will we be eating and where?
Students will be eating meals prepared by a local cook at our base hotel. The food will vary between traditional Costa Rican food (rice, beans, meat dishes and salads) and occasional American and international selections.
+Can you prepair specific diets?
Uvita Costa Rica Surf Camp can cater to most dietary needs on these trips. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated. Please know that while we are happy to accommodate alternative diets, many of the special diets common in the United States are not common in other parts of the world and travelers must be patient and understanding in having these needs be met. +What will the accommodations on this trip be like?
Students will be staying at a comfortable hotel near the town of Uvita. Remember that accommodations are based on the package you have selected before you come down Uvita.
+Are the staff qualified in first-aid?
Because safety is our number one priority, all our staff  is certified as a Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR training.
